What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I love listening to clients and getting to know them. I always make sure they know we appreciate them as individuals foremost but also as clients. Being responsive lets them know we are here for them and are eager to help. Knowing their individual circumstances helps us inform their accounts and helps us answer their questions.
What are some causes you care about?
Primary for me is giving back to the communities we live and work in. I value the opportunity to invest in early childhood education by being a mentor and tutor. Early learning is so crucial to helping children succeed. I have worked with Invest in Youth for 20 years, a local non-profit organization that tutors students in low-income areas of Seattle Public Schools, grade 3-5. West Seattle Garden Tour is an all-volunteer organization that raises money via a yearly garden tour in West Seattle. All money raised go back to the community to promote horticultural-based interests, education, and artistic endeavors.
Do you have skills and talents that most people do not know about?
I went to a prestigious cooking school back east and was a professional chef for 15 years.
